We all, subconsciously, are on a pursuit to find that One person-
Even beyond the realm of romanticism-
Whom we can lean on, no matter what
Who understands us, at every point
Accepts us, for who we are
Possesses the same humour, interests
Who is similar to us, yet different
That one relation that defies all odds
The bond that soothes us-
Our pillar, Our go-to
We strive to build and nurture-
That one relation with that one person, that fills all the void-
To satisfy all our expectations
To show our vulnerable side, seek acceptance and allow ourselves to be dependent, on just that one
To complete us
//
It’s reassuring to have that one, but is that it?
Should we just look for that one special relation?
Or one special aspect, in every relation?
Because do we sometimes focus too much on that one bond,
Leaving behind the thought of cherishing all the others?
Is it realistic to idealize that one relation can complete us,
While different relations fulfill us, idealize in their own way?
Is it justified to put the weight of all our expectations on one relation?
Or would it be reasonable only to acknowledge commonalities among each, and cherish those moments?
Is it okay to recognize only that one relation as a pillar, to lean on?
While we need all relations as a whole, to keep us rooted?
.
.
.
We probably shouldn’t limit ourselves to that One relation, but celebrate all
Because it’s all these relations together, that make you, The One you are
My favourite!
