A man was driving to his workplace, as part of his routine

The slow pace of the car in front frustrated him

Impatient, he persistently honked

But he stopped honking upon noticing something-

A handicapped sticker on that car

He realised the person’s distress and was guilt-ridden for badgering him

Having learnt the situation-

He patiently drove-

Repenting his restlessness

It is displeasing how our willingness to adapt to a situation is only unleashed when we are presented with a compelling reason-

Without which, we are not willing to accommodate

We are ready to be patient, when we see a ‘label’

Just like that handicapped sticker

Because when we are given context, we lend sympathy

-Much like a barter arrangement

But do we always need context to be accommodative?

Could we empathise without an explicit mention?

Because we may never know what someone goes through-

Not everyone exhibits a ‘label’ of their struggles

But that most certainly does not insinuate the absence of complications in their lives

Their actions must be justified considering their situation

A justification we may demand, but never unravel

We should be perceptive to realize all facets

Be willing to discern

Because when has the exterior ever justified the interior?

And since when do we need ‘labels’ to exercise humanity?

Be kind, because everyone is fighting their own battle

And if you really wanna see what people are, all you have to do… is look- beyond Labels
