All of us aim to be perfect in every aspect of our lives.

But is it really perfection that we seek or have we misunderstood the idea of it?

Maybe, we aim to perform to the best of our potential, in every aspect.

‘Best of our potential’ and ‘perfect’- there is a huge difference.

Perfection seems like chasing the horizon.

With the goal seemingly distant and perpetually unmet.

Perfection, does it even exist?

Or is it an illusion, created by our own perception and expectations?

The very idea of it being redefined every time we seem to get close to it?

Perfection, does it even exist?

Does it inspire us to do better?

Or make us criticise our every step for not having met that bar of flawlessness?

Should we see ourselves growing in relative or absolute terms?

Should we aim to be ‘better’ or be ‘perfect’?

Perfection- does it make us, or break us?

Would we rather call ourselves ‘self-fulfilled’ or ‘perfectionists’?

So,

Should we aim to be perfect? Or strive to retain our imperfect self…?

Because if the world was perfect, would it still be…?

Should we ultimately seek something more wholesome? Something more realistic?

Because really…

Is it worth wasting this version of you, wondering you might lack something?

By constantly contemplating how you could be better than what you already are?

Isn’t this concept of perfection intimidating, more than encouraging?

.

.

.

So give your best, put your best foot forward, not for perfection, but for satisfaction.

And maybe, what we are, is the best version of ourselves…

Embrace yourself, for who you are.

You’re gifted.

You deserve it 🙂
