Stain
It covers the original surface, leaving it blotched
But do we care to look underneath it?
We stain a person’s reputation, in our minds
Shortly after they diverge from the adopted moral codes
The ‘masterminds’ that plan scams, thefts, elaborated frauds
Essentially, methodical and intricately planned wrongdoings–
Have their names engrained in history
For the wrong reasons.
With their names, stained.
We take their name with criticism
To reprimand them, for their condemnable acts
We justifiably, disregard their intention
We take them as an example- not to be them
To learn something that we should not inculcate
//
But what if, for one instance, we de-link their intellect from the intention?
Take a moment to look under that stain
Not with the intention to excuse them from the burden of censure
But to adopt another outlook.
To learn something that we could inculcate.
Their determined efforts and dedication
Their itch, to better themselves
The urge to do something big, to own up
With the vision to rule the space they entered.
Even if their intentions didn’t align with the moral codes generalized
At least their intention satisfied theirs.
And they undoubtedly gave it their all, to achieve it.
We reprimand them for the disturbance, large-scale disruption
Did we ever ponder upon the intellect required to strike with a magnitude so huge?
While most of us rob ourselves of the liberty to dream big, in this world full of uncertainties,
Could they be given some credit for the same?
While most of us appreciate the simplicity in our life
Can we appreciate them for the paradigm shift they desired to bring in theirs?
.
.
.
On the face of it, we may seem to hold someone as a specimen to diverge our personality from theirs
But maybe, we could learn something, even from them:
The persistence to bring a shift
The courage to tread on thin ice
To reward ourselves with the liberty to dream big
The will to move forward, and keep going-
The execution, to make it happen
To ultimately align it all, with our morals
And this time, move forward, in the right direction?
Maybe, we can look under the stain sometimes, to get a different perspective?
Quite deep thoughts Prittika. Keep writing.
Really like your perspective!
