Who are we?

People say our thoughts define us, who we are.
Aren’t thoughts a mere reciprocation to a stimulus?
Maybe it’s our response to these thoughts that define us.
Maybe it’s the ability to rise up from the muddle, that defines us.
The wisdom to know the difference between a fallacy and reality.
But, who is the real us?
The self we hold up in front of the world or the self we are when alone?
Is there even a difference? Should one exist?
What do we really feel?
Is it reflected in our disposition around people? Or when we’re alone?
Is there even a difference? Should one exist?
Is the outside world a distraction to what we really feel?
Or are our thoughts a mere introspection of the same?
